S Korea’s KKPC to shut SBR, BR plants in October for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Korea Kumho Petrochemical Corp (KKPC) will shut its 560,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant in Ulsan in October for turnaround, a company source said.

It will also shut its 220,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant at Yeosu in October for 20-25 days for maintenance, the source added.

However, its other 120,000 tonne/year BR line at Yeosu will continue to run during this period, the source said.

The South Korean company is a major synthetic rubber producer in Asia.
