HOUSTON (ICIS)--Methanex rolled its monthly contract price on Thursday, posting 160 cents/gal for September for the fifth straight month.

But US September methanol contracts still dipped by 1.5 cents/gal because of the posting earlier in the week by Southern Chemical Corp (SCC) of 159 cents/gal.

SCC issued 162 cents/gal in August, putting the average monthly contract price at 161 cents/gal. The September average is 159.5. Methanex and SCC historically have set the US monthly contract range with their postings.

Industry participants this week expected a rollover of the August contracts, at 160-162 cents/gal, because of fairly stagnant spot prices.
