MELBOURNE (ICIS)--China’s Jiangsu Sopo Chemical has increased the operating rate at its 500,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at Zhengjiang in Jiangsu province to about 60% capacity, a company source said on Friday.

The producer ramped up its etac output from 28 August from about 35% capacity previously to meet rising sales, the source said.

Its etac output is currently at about 800 tonnes/day, versus roughly 500 tonnes/day earlier, the source added.

Other major etac makers in China include Wuxi Baichuan Chemical Industrial, Shandong Jinyimeng, Jiangmen Handsome Chemical Development, Shanghai Huayi Group and Jiangsu Lianhai Biological Technology.
