SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's Mitsui Chemicals on 29 August shut its phenol/acetone plant at Jurong Island in Singapore for planned maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The plant, which has a nameplate capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 180,000 tonnes/year of acetone, will remain offline until 2-3 October, the source said.

The plant was running at full capacity prior to the shutdown, the source said.

Spot supply is limited given the ongoing shutdown, the source added.
