LONDON (ICIS)--Altuglas International restarted its polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) plant in Rho, Italy, this week, following four weeks of planned maintenance, a source at the France-headquartered specialty chemicals producer said on Friday.

“Our plant restarted this week,” the source said. “So now it’s just ramping up, and everything is ok, as scheduled.”

PMMA is a transparent thermoplastic, often used as a lighter, shatter-resistant alternative to glass.

Altuglas is a subsidiary of Arkema.
