LONDON (ICIS)--Germany-based Domo Chemicals has agreed to sell its nylon 6 (or polyamide 6) carpet yarn business to Italy-based Aquafil Group, both companies said on Friday.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The €50m ($66m)-turnover business, known under the brand Xentrys, is based in Leuna, Germany, and employs 249 people.
Domo Chemicals, a privately owned company and part of Domo Investment Group, said it will further concentrate on the global growth of its chemicals, polymer and engineering plastics businesses, following the sale.
Aquafil said it will integrate the nylon 6 carpet yarn business into its organisation. The company has not excluded the possibility of a rationalisation process, although details were not disclosed.
