SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Tongsuh Petrochemical is bringing forward a planned shutdown at its 245,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) line in Ulsan to 4 September because of weak margins and low demand, a company source said on Tuesday.|
The company had initially planned to shut the plant on 10 September, according to the source.
Tongsuh has yet to fix a restart date for the No 4 ACN line because it will depend on market conditions, the source said.
The company’s 70,000 tonne/year No 2 ACN line in Ulsan will shut in mid-October for about 10 days, the source added.
