HOUSTON (ICIS)--US based Kinder Morgan and Valero have completed the Parkway Pipeline, which transports refined petroleum products to serve the eastern US, the companies said on Tuesday.
The approximately 141-mile (227-km) long pipeline is a 50-50 joint venture between the two companies and will transport products from refineries in Norco, Louisiana, to an existing petroleum hub in Collins, Mississippi, which is owned by Plantation Pipe Line.
According to Kinder Morgan, products will be transported from the Mississippi hub by multiple pipeline systems, including Plantation, that serve major markets in the eastern US.
The pipeline system has an initial capacity of 110,000 bbl/day with the ability to expand to over 200,000 bbl/day.
