China XLX Fertiliser commissions new fertilizer plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Hong Kong-listed China XLX Fertiliser said on Wednesday that its fourth production plant at Xinxiang in Henan province has entered commissioning stage.

The plant can produce approximately 450,000 tonne/year of synthetic ammonia and 800,000 tonne/year of urea, the company said in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Trial production is expected to begin later this month, it said.

The company’s urea capacity will exceed 2.0m tonnes/year with operation of the new plant. Work on the new plant was started in March 2011, according to the filing.
