LONDON (ICIS)--Melamine production at Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited (MHTL) will be hampered during a month-long scheduled maintenance turnaround at its feedstock ammonia plant in September, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
The ammonia turnaround is scheduled to take place from the beginning of the month and will last until 30 September, the source said.
It added that there are not expected to be any problems with melamine deliveries during the outage.
The turnaround will take place amid further natural gas curtailments in Trinidad, in an attempt to limit any impact on the market.
MHTL has the capacity to produce 60,000 tonnes/year of melamine at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate in Trinidad and Tobago.
