LONDON (ICIS)--Thailand-based Indorama Ventures is in consultation with its employees to discuss its future plans for the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant in Workington, the UK, a company source said on Thursday.

"It relates to the economic performance of the PET market," the source said.

The Workington plant has a nameplate capacity of 155,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS.

Indorama sealed the purchase of Eastman's PET and upstream purified terephthalic acid (PTA) assets in the UK and the Netherlands in December 2007.
