jakartaSINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Tongsuh Petrochemical on 4 September shut its 245,000 tonne/year No 4 acrylonitrile (ACN) line in Ulsan amid poor margins, a company source said on Friday.

“The plant was shut down on 4 September as scheduled,” the source said.

The company has yet to fix a restart date for the plant because of current market conditions, the source said.

Meanwhile, the company’s 70,000 tonne/year No 2 ACN line in Ulsan will be shut in October as planned for about 10 days, he said.

The firm’s 245,000 tonne/year No 3 line in Ulsan and the No2 plant are currently running at around 80% of capacity, according to the source.
