SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical shut its 450,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant in Tianjin city on 5 September for about six days of maintenance, a company source said on Friday.
The plant shutdown is for maintenance of the granulation equipment, the source added.
Chinese domestic prices of copolymer PP with melt flow of lower than 10 (low-MI) would be propped up by the plant’s turnaround because of its large capacity, some market players said.
Others, however, held the opinions that the short duration of the shutdown would have little impact on the market.
