SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) is planning to shut its 250,000 tonne/year n-butanol (NBA) plant at Mailiao in the fourth quarter this year for a scheduled maintenance, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.

“The exact turnaround schedule remains unclear currently, as it is still in the planning phase,” the source said.

The company is currently the plant operating at around 90% of capacity to build up stock levels ahead of the impending shutdown, the source added.
