US July acetic acid exports slip by 3% year on year

HOUSTON (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>US acetic acid exports in July slipped by 3% year on year on fewer shipments to destinations not ranked among the top 10 destinations, according
to data released on Friday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
US acetic acid exports totalled 74,250 tonnes in July, compared with 76,651 tonnes in the same month of 2012.
July shipments to Belgium and Mexico - the two largest destinations – increased by a combined 7,498 tonnes, up by about 14% compared with 55,043 tonnes in the same month of 2012.
Major US acetic acid sellers include BP, Celanese and Eastman Chemical.
