US July BD exports rose by 15% to 5,179 tonnes

HOUSTON (ICIS) – US exports of butadiene (BD) increased in July by 15% from a year ago, according to data released Friday by the US International Trade Commission.

July BD exports were 5,179 tonnes, compared with 4,502 tonnes a year ago. July exports increased by 95.8% from June, when exports were 2,645 tonnes.

All of the US BD exports went to Mexico.

US July imports also rose, by 17.5% to 58,311 tonnes from 49,612 tonnes a year ago.

Compared with June, July imports increased by 77.7% from 32,821 tonnes.

Major US producers of BD include ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Shell and Texas Petrochemical.
