HOUSTON (ICIS)--Applied Minerals has hired Rogerio Galante to lead its iron oxide operations, the US-based halloysite clay producer said on Monday.
Galante will be responsible for sales, marketing and development of iron oxide products at Applied Mineral’s Dragon Mine resource.
With 15 years of experience at Germany-based specialty chemicals producer LANXESS, Galante said he has served in a number of senior level roles and has knowledge in all aspects of commercialisation and operations.
Applied Minerals said it plans to introduce a range of hematite and goethite-based oxide products to serve as pigments for wood stains, plastics and cosmetics; sorbents for water purification and remediation of toxic effluents; catalysts; as well as flame retardant synergists for polymer composites.
