LONDON (ICIS)--Here is Tuesday’s midday European oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: October WTI: $108.69/bbl, down 83 cents/bbl. October BRENT: $113.39/bbl, down 33 cents/bbl
Crude oil futures weakened after fears of a looming US military stike on Syria eased as a Russian intervention to avert an attack gathered pace.

NAPHTHA: $949-951/tonne, down $12/tonne
The cargo range is down on softer ICE Brent crude oil futures.
October swaps were assessed at $937-939/tonne.

BENZENE: $1,290-1,310/tonne, down $25-30/tonne
Losses in both Asia and the US brought domestic spot levels down, and continued downward movement on crude oil and energy supported the lower numbers. October was in contango at $1,300-1,320/tonne.

STYRENE:  $1,810-1,875/tonne, down $15-20/tonne
September offers were lower amid some downward movement in Asia and upstream/crude oil losses, while bids later emerged at $1,810/tonne. October was backwardated at $1,755-1,765/tonne.
