DUBAI (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia's Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical (Petro Rabigh) had to shut down operations because of a power outage, the company said on Thursday.
“On 11 September, a sudden interruption in supply of electric power and steam from the supplier, Rabigh Arabian Water and Electricity Co, Ltd led to [the] shutdown [of] operations in the company's complex,” Petro Rabigh said in a statement to the Saudi Stock Exchange.
Further details have not been disclosed.
The company, a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Oil Co and Sumitomo Chemical, said work is under way to restore electricity to restart production at its petrochemical complex in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.
Petro Rabigh said it will announce the shutdown’s financial impact and any other developments in due course.
