SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's JA Solar Holdings Co has started supplying 96 megawatts (MW) of solar modules to Huanghe Hydropower Development Co’s two solar projects in Qinghai province, a source close to JA Solar said on Friday.
The projects are located in Gonghe County in Qinghai's Hainan autonomous prefecture, the source said.
The bigger project with a 320MW capacity is a hybrid hydro-solar power station that will work along the existing Longyangxia Hydro Power Station, the source said, adding that the other project has a 200MW capacity.
Delivery of the modules is expected to be completed by the end of September, with the two solar projects due to begin commercial operations by October this year, the source said.
Huanghe Hydropower Development Co is a wholly owned subsidiary of state-owned China Power Investment Corp (CPI), which is an integrated energy group.
Financial details of the supply deal were not disclosed.
