SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) shut its 1.03m tonne/year naphtha cracker in Mailiao as scheduled on Monday for turnaround, a company source said.

The cracker is expected to be off line until the end of October, the source said.

FPCC runs two other crackers in Mailiao - a No 1 cracker that can produce around 700,000 tonnes/year of ethylene and a No 3 cracker with a nameplate ethylene capacity of 1.2m tonnes/year.

These plants are running at full capacity this month, the source said.
