Integrated domestic PE margins were assessed at 64.02 cents/lb ($1,411 /tonne, €1,058/tonne) for LDPE and 54.66 cents/lb for high density polyethylene (HDPE) blow moulding in the week that ended 13 September. That represents a 0.30 cent/lb increase on average for LDPE and 0.30 cent/lb increase on average for HDPE from a week earlier, using ethane as a feedstock.
The PE margin increased based on a 2.6% decrease in ethane feedstock costs. Co-product credits were relatively unchanged.
Integrated export margins for PE rose by about 1.29 cents/lb for LDPE because of the lower ethane costs as well as higher export prices.
