LONDON (ICIS)--State-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC) is currently preparing for an October/November planned outage at its base oil and wax plant in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, a company source said on Monday.
“We are in a particular situation at the end of October and into November we have a turnaround coming up. We had some problems in August and we don’t have much [base oils] available at the moment,” the company source said.
“We are on allocation on all grades and no exports since we don't have product,” it added.
In relation to base oils demand, the KPC sources said it was “hard to say”, since the shutdown has been well communicated to its customers.
The unit has a production capacity of 235,000 tonnes/year of base oils, and 40,000-50,000 tonnes/year of wax.
