HOUSTON (ICIS)--Air Products announced on Monday increased prices and monthly charges on a host of industrial gases for North American merchant customers, effective 1 October or as contracts permit.

Included in the price changes were an increase of up to 12% for liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and liquid carbon dioxide (CO2), and an increase of up to 20% for liquid argon, liquid and bulk hydrogen and bulk carbon monoxide (CO).

Pricing adjustments for liquid and bulk helium will be determined on a contract-by-contract basis, the industrial gas producer said.

The price changes are due to supply-demand imbalances that are driving up production and delivery costs, as well as increases in operating costs, Air Products said.
