SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s Optimal Chemicals plans to restart its 140,000 tonne/year n-butanol (NBA)/iso-butanol (IBA) plant at Kerteh in Terrangganu in end-October, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.
The plant was taken off line from the beginning of September for a major overhaul, the source said.
The major overhaul, which usually takes place every once in five years, will last for roughly two months, the source added.
“As a result, the company will have very limited spot availability for October shipments,” the source added.
