LONDON (ICIS)--Europe September acrylic acid (AA) contract prices have increased by €30/tonne ($40/tonne) from the previous month , on higher feedstock costs, sources said on Wednesday.

Contract prices are at €1,880-1,900/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).

The September feedstock propylene contract price rose by €60/tonne.

AA spot prices are steady at €1,500-1,550/tonne FD NWE.

Demand is not as healthy as it was in July, but it is better than some players had expected for September. Buying interest is largely in line with levels seen during the same month last year.

AA and its esters are used in the manufacture of various plastics, coatings, adhesives and elastomers, as well as floor polishes and paints.
