SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Daqing Refining & Chemicals plans to shut down its 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) old plant in Heilongjiang province after the Mid-Autumn Festival, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
The plant currently producing PP raffia yarn has developed some mechanical problem and needs to be fixed, the source added.
The plant was restarted on 15 September after a 37-day long maintenance shut down.
The supply of raffia yarn in the market will be reduced as a result of the shutdown, market sources said.
The chinese Mid-Autumn festival will be observed from 19 September to 21 September this year.
