SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan's state-owned CPC Corp is expected continue running its No 1 toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit in Kaohsiung up to the end of October, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant had been shut since the start of the year but was restarted on 6-7 September to increase CPC’s benzene production, the source said.

The company’s No 1 and No 2 TDP facilities with a combined benzene capacity of 170,000 tonnes/year, are currently running at close to full operations, the source said.

CPC has a new No 7 aromatics unit in Kaohsiung that achieved on-spec material last week, but production at the facility has yet to stabilise, the source said.
