SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hainan Handi Sunshine Petrochemical is expected to restart its 300,000 tonne/year Group II base oils plant in Hainan province in late September, a company source said on Wednesday.
The company shut its Group II base oils plant on 5 July for maintenance.
Spot base oils supply to the domestic market will be available in October, the source said.
Group II base oils supply is expected to increase significantly in China in October when Handi Sunshine and PetroChina’s Daqing Refining & Chemical restart their Group II base oils units in late September, industry sources said.
China’s Group II supply will continue to trend upward in November if Panjin Northern Asphalt starts up a 400,000 tonne/year Group II base oils plant in Liaoning province in October, the sources said.
Hainan Handi Sunshine Petrochemical mainly produces Group II N70, N150 and N400 base oils.
