LONDON (ICIS)--Austria-based Atmosa’s phthalic anhydride (PA) plant in Schwechat is running again and operating rates are being ramped up gradually, following the completion of recent planned and unplanned maintenance work, a company source said on Thursday.
The PA unit is expected to resume normal output over the next few weeks, added the company source.
The PA facility was in a restart phase at the end of last week, following a brief turnaround which was needed to resolve some production problems.
Prior to this, the unit had been operating at reduced run rates owing to production problems following a catalyst change. The previous planned shutdown took place in August.
Atmosa's Schwechat PA unit has a nameplate capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year, according to the company source.
