HOUSTON (ICIS)--Here is Thursday’s end-of-day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: Oct WTI: $106.39/bbl, down $1.68; Nov Brent: $108.76/bbl, down $1.84
NYMEX WTI crude futures fell on sentiment that Wednesday’s rally had been overdone and in response to conciliatory words out of Iran with regards to its nuclear weapons programme, easing geopolitical tensions. The October WTI contract goes off the board on Friday.

RBOB: Oct $2.6972/gal, down 4.49 cents/gal
Reformulated blendstock for oxygen blending (RBOB) gasoline futures gave back half of Wednesday’s gains after reports that unemployment benefit claims increased last week.

NATURAL GAS: Oct: $3.720/MMBtu, up 0.7 cents
The October front month contract on the NYMEX closed a volatile trading day, up slightly from the previous day’s settlement. Prices oscillated from loss to gain several times through the session in the aftermath of the Energy Information Administration’s latest weekly gas storage report, which showed inventories continuing to grow but at a lower rate than last year.

ETHANE: higher at 24.88 cents/gal
Ethane spot prices were slightly higher on standard market fluctuations. Demand remains stable as no major cracker outages or startups have been reported.

AROMATICS: toluene wider at $3.92-4.05/gal, mixed xylene up at $4.10-4.13/gal
US toluene spot prices were discussed within a wider range during the day, sources said. The day’s toluene range was further apart from $3.95-3.97/gal FOB (free on board) the previous session. Meanwhile, September mixed xylene (MX) spot prices were discussed at $4.10-4.13/gal FOB, up from $4.03-4.10/gal FOB the previous session.

OLEFINS: ethylene done lower at 52.5 cents/lb, RGP flat at 56.50-57.75 cents/lb
US September ethylene traded lower at 52.5 cents/lb on Thursday, lower than the previous reported deal at 53.0 cents/lb. US September refinery-grade propylene (RGP) bid/offer levels were steady at 56.50-57.75 cents/lb.
