SINGAPORE (PS)--Philippines-based DFE Chemicals is running its 30,000 tonne/year polystyrene (PS) unit in Manila at 100% of capacity after restarting it last week, a company source said on Friday.
The facility was shut in late July because of a shortage of feedstock styrene monomer (SM).
The company plans to operate the unit throughout October while it sources for November SM cargoes.
DFE Chemicals is the Philippines’ sole PS producer.
Other PS producers in southeast Asia includes Total Petrochemical and Denka in Singapore and Petrochemical Malaysia.
