LONDON (ICIS)--Safic-Alcan announced on Friday that it has acquired fellow France-based chemicals distributor Laserson for an undisclosed fee.
With the acquisition, Safic-Alcan said it has “further enhanced its market position in the distribution of cosmetic specialty ingredients”.
“The priority of both companies will be to maintain the same spirit of first-class service to customers and principals that is key to success in this business,” it added.
Based in Etampes, Laserson employs 21 people and achieved sales revenues of €17.5m ($23.6m) in 2012. It mainly distributes specialty ingredients for the cosmetic and pharma industries.
Privately-owned Safic-Alcan, based in Puteaux, recorded global sales of €400m in 2012. It employs 380 people and has affiliates and agents in more than 25 countries in the world, it said.
