SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shenyang Chemical restarted its 130,000 tonne/year emulsion polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Liaoning province on 20 September after completing its maintenance, a company source said on Monday.
The company shut the plant on 23 August for maintenance, the source added.
As Shenyang Chemical is the second largest producer in the emulsion PVC market, some players showed concerns on the near-term market outlook.
The increase in supply following the restart may weigh down emulsion PVC prices given steady demand, a local player said.
The current emulsion PVC prices quoted by the producer are yuan (CNY) 10,200-10,400/tonne ($1,667-1,699/tonne) DEL (delivered), according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
