HOUSTON (ICIS)--BASF is building an expertise centre in Germany to develop and produce polyurethane and epoxy-based systems for flooring and waterproofing, the chemicals major announced on Monday.
Construction of the centre at the BASF Coatings GmbH site in Oldenburg is expected to be complete by the end of 2014.
BASF is also investing in logistics, research, sales and service at the centre.
“Our new centre in Oldenburg underlines our strategic and operational target to expand and develop permanently and sustainably our Performance Flooring und Waterproofing segments,” said Roland Nowicki, vice president of BASF construction chemicals in Europe. “We are setting ourselves up for the future and want to remain a reliable and innovative solution partner for our customers.”
