HOUSTON (ICIS--Emery Oleochemicals has established a new business unit due to the opportunities in the global polyol industry, the Malaysia-headquartered bio-based chemicals producer announced on Wednesday.
Emery’s Eco-Friendly Polyols (EP) business offers polyol solutions in the manufacturing flexible and rigid polyurethane (PU) foam for applications in transportation, construction, packaging, furniture and bedding, as well as coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE).
The new business is supported by the recent $50m (€37m) expansion of Emery’s US facility in Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as its acquisition of the InfiGreen recycled polyols technology.
“Understanding the high growth potential this segment offers, the timely launch of our Eco-Friendly Polyols business will enable us better respond to the growing demand and increasing push for environmentally friendly polyol products,” said Dr Kongkrapan Intarajang, group CEO at Emery.
