US Dow to expand polyols, copolymer capacity in TexasHOUSTON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical is increasing its polyols and copolymer capacity at its Freeport facilities in Texas, the US producer announced on Wednesday.

Dow Polyurethanes’s debottlenecking effort will expand its capability to leverage low-carbon ethylene oxide (EO) costs in the US Gulf.

It will also increase output of base polyols for the expanded copolymer polyols facility, as well as flex slab and coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) polyols for North American markets.

“DMC catalysis will allow our Texas facilities to meet customer needs in the region, while boosting global supply of Dow’s world-class products,” said Mark Bassett, global business director for Dow Polyurethanes. “This capacity increase positions Dow to assist customers with growing demand for polyols and copolymer polyols down the value chain.”
