SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's Mitsui Chemicals plans to restart its phenol/acetone plant at Jurong Island in Singapore on 1 October,  a company source said on Friday.

The plant, which has a nameplate capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 180,000 tonnes/year of acetone, was taken off line on 29 August for annual maintenance, the source added.

Spot supply has been tight because of the ongoing shutdown, the source said.
