SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Fanavaran Petrochemical is planning to shut its 1m tonne/year methanol plant in Bandar Imam Khomeini for a month-long maintenance next year, a company source said on Wednesday.

“We have not decided on the dates yet, but it is an annual maintenance,” the source said.

The company’s methanol plant was last shut on 12 April this year for a month of maintenance.

Methanol is used in the production of formaldehyde, methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), methyl chloride, methyl methacrylate (MMA) and acetic acid.
