LONDON (ICIS)--Spanish chemicals producer Repsol's cracker based at Tarragona is now down for planned maintenance, a company spokesperson said on Wednesday.
"The Tarragona cracker is on a planned maintenance as from yesterday, 1 October," the spokesperson said.
The cracker, which will be offline for the next two months, is the last of a handful of European crackers slated for maintenance in the September-November period.
The cracker currently has the capacity to produce 702,000 tonnes/year of ethylene.
In related news, Repsol earlier announced that it would be downsizing the capacity of its Puertollano cracker effective 2015 as part of an optimisation process.
