DUBAI (ICIS)--Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Co (Muntajat) has set up an international marketing firm in the Netherlands, Qatari energy and industry minister Mohamed bin Saleh Al-Sada said on Sunday.
“Muntajat's presence in the Netherlands will provide a strategically located base for reaching customers in markets around the world,” Al-Sada said in a statement.
Called Muntajat Besloten Vennoot (BV), the company in the Hague will market Qatar's chemical, polymer and fertilizer products.
Muntajat BV will have 150 employees across 30 offices serving more than 120 countries worldwide.
The Netherlands has a favourable business climate, a reputation as an internationally oriented country and has quality and multilingual workforce, Muntajat BV chairman Yousef Jeham Al-Kuwari said, explaining the choice of the country as a global marketing headquarters.
“The proximity of The Hague to the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, Schiphol Airport and international chemical and petrochemical companies also contributed to the decision,” he said.
Doha-based Muntajat, which was launched in the second half of 2012, holds exclusive rights to purchase, market, distribute and sell Qatar’s chemical and petrochemical regulated products to the global market.
The company holds mandate to export 10m tonnes of Qatar’s chemicals and petrochemicals to worldwide markets.
