BERLIN (ICIS)--Asian methyl methacrylate (MMA) supply constraints will ease slightly in November and December, but the market will remain tight during October, an Asian MMA trader told ICIS on Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 47th annual European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) meeting in Berlin, the trader said September and October supply has been tight, but seasonal holidays and destocking activity would bring some relief to the market.
Availability in Asia has been limited during recent weeks amid planned and unplanned turnarounds.
Global MMA availability is also expected to lengthen from November as year-end destocking will take place, and as the peak buying season draws to an end, the source explained.
“Asia will be a little bit long in November and December,” it added.
The EPCA meeting runs from 5-9 October.
