LONDON (ICIS)--European October epichlorohydrin (ECH) contract prices have dropped by €10-20/tonne ($14-27/tonne) because of lower feedstock propylene prices, sources said on Tuesday.

The October contract price settled at €1,690-1,710/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).

The price of propylene dropped by €40/tonne in October.

According to an ECH producer, this was a symbolic drop and merely to follow feedstock movements as they cannot afford to lower prices by more than that. The seller added that supply and demand remains balanced and there are no production issues.
