SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s TSRC-UBE (Nantong) Chemical Industrial is running its 72,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant at Nantong in Jiangsu province at 60-70% capacity, following its restart on 28 September, a company source said on Thursday.

The BR plant was shut down on 15 August, because of the weak-performing domestic BR market, the source said, adding that output was produced on 1 October after the restart.

The company is a joint venture between Taiwan Synthetic Rubber Corp (TSRC), which owns a 55% stake, while Japanese chemical producer Ube Industries has a 25% share and Marubeni holds the remaining 20% interest.
