SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals plans to keep its bisphenol A (BPA) line 3 in Singapore shut until the end of the year to control its inventory of the product, company sources said on Friday.
The company has three BPA lines in Jurong Island with a combined capacity of 230,000 tonnes/year. Capacity breakdown of the individual units was not available.
Mitsui Chemical restarted the BPA line 1 on 8 October and the line 2 earlier on 4 October, after completing turnarounds at the units that started on August 27, the sources said.
