China September PE, PP imports grow 4.8% from August: traders

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China has imported an estimated 1.27m tonnes of combined polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) in September, up by 4.8% from the previous month, local traders said on Monday.

Some 813,000 tonnes of PE and 456,300 tonnes of PP were brought into the country last month, they said.

Compared with official August numbers, the estimated September PE imports were up 1%, while PP imports grew 12.4%, traders said.

Official data from China Customs on September imports will be released around 24 October.
