LONDON (ICIS)--South Africa-based chemicals producer Sasol said on Monday that Andre de Ruyter, senior group executive for global chemicals and North American operations, is to resign.
“Andre has resigned to take up a senior executive position at another JSE [Johannesburg Stock Exchange] listed company,” the company said in a statement.
De Ruyter is to join South Africa-based Nampak, according to a filing by the packaging and plastics producer on the JSE on Monday.
He is to serve as executive director and CEO-designate from 1 January 2014, and will take over as CEO on 1 April 2014, following the resignation of current CEO Andrew Marshall, Nampak said. De Ruyter will step down from Sasol as of 30 November this year. He will be succeeded by Fleetwood Grobler, current manager of Sasol’s olefins and surfactants business.
The news follows the resignation of Sasol chief financial officer (CFO) and executive director Christine Ramon in September.
