SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shiyou Chemical is in the process of restarting its 320,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone plant at Yangzhou in Jiangsu province on Wednesday after completing mechanical repairs at the unit, a company source said.
The plant was shut on 8 October because of mechanical issues.
The producer expects to achieve phenol/acetone output and resume shipments by 18 October, the company source added.
Shiyou Chemical’s plant can produce 200,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 120,000 tonnes/year of acetone.
The company is a subsidiary of Kingboard Chemical Holdings, which operates a 200,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone plant at Huizhou in Guangdong province.
