Canada August chemical manufacturing sales fall 2.1% from July

TORONTO (ICIS)--Canadian chemical manufacturing sales fell 2.1% to Canadian dollar (C$) 3.98bn ($3.83bn) in August from July, a government statistics agency said on Wednesday.

Compared with August 2012, they were up 6.0% year on year, Ottawa-based Statistics Canada said.

Canadian sales of plastics and rubber products fell 0.3% to C$2.06bn in August from July but were up 1.2% year on year from August 2012.

Canada’s overall manufacturing sales were down 0.2% to C$49.5bn in August from July, following three months of gains, but they were up 0.3% year on year from August 2012.
