EU PG July and Aug imports fall significantly, exports mixed

LONDON(ICIS)--Propylene glycol imports from the EU to the rest of the world dropped significantly in both July and August while exports showed a mixed picture, according to Eurostat data on Monday.

In July 2013, imports into the EU from the rest of the world decreased by 37.54% and fell by 83.12% in August.

In July 2013, exports from the region to the rest of the world rose by 8.95% but then fell by 34.96% in August.

Eurostat data for PG includes monopropylene glycol (MPG) and propylene glycol ethers. However, the agency was unable to specify which other derivatives are included under this heading.
